CCM's 2015 Presidential Candidate

So after days of meetings and voting, the Tanzanian ruling political party has elected a presidential candidate for the general elections, 2015.




CCM's National Assembly has chosen Hon. John Magufuli as the official Presidential running candidate for the 2015 general elections. There were 2435 delegates seated in the N.Assembly and 87% of the votes went to Hon. John Magufuli

How it was done:

From the 38 CCM, candidates, 5 candidates were chosen,namely; Bernard Membe, John Magufuli, Asharose Migiro, January Makamba and Amina Salum Ali, their values were also taken into high consideration and these names were released on Friday 10/07/2015

and from these 5 candidates, the NEC met and 3 candidates were chosen on Saturday, 11/07/2015 where 378 delegates sat and voted.

hence from these three names, one candidate emerged as the presidential candidate running under the CCM ticket.

Now, we await for an official statement from the opposition to reveal their Presidential Candidate.
